About the Author
L.M. Fortin is an author and event organizer, who plans things such as graduations, conferences, and gala lunches, all which give her ideas for her books. She lives in the Pacific Northwest, in a town surprisingly like Skinner. She is currently at work on the second book in the series, Pint of No Return, a mystery that takes place during a brewfest.

I would highly recommend it as a 'must read' for anyone who's fallen ...

What a treat! I applaud Fortin's ability to recreate the 'vibe' of Oregon--a place with such a distinct personality-- through her writing. Her characters are endearing, and the story is just weird enough to be believable. (It is Oregon after all!) I look forward to reading future books in this series. I would highly recommend it as a 'must read' for anyone who's fallen for the charms of the Northwest, or someone who wants to start now.

This is a perfect summer read

This is a perfect summer read. A great first novel and I look forward to reading more in the series. Callie Stone is a likable detective with a penchant for getting into trouble. Fortin has created a wonderful, quirky town in Skinner, Oregon (it couldn't possible resemble the real town where the University of Oregon is located could it? :-) and characters you will care about and what to hear more from. I highly recommend this book.

I am very surprised to see so few reviews posted for this superior cosy mystery. It is amusing with characters who are not saccharine sweet or infuriatingly ditzy. I like the connection of an adult daughter, mother and grandmother, all different but rubbing along together like real families do. The hippie town setting of Skinner gives a rich backdrop that is quite different to the tired clichés often trotted out in cosies and also a lot of potential for character development and further stories. I thought the quality of writing and editing was of a very high standard, again helping this book stand out in the sea of kindle cosies I read. Really, give this a try if you enjoy cosy mysteries, it is a modern, fun cosy that deserves so many more good reviews!
