Heartwarming Christmas Story that Inspires Higher Hope

I'm a wife, mom, writer, and life-giver in Austin, TX and 1-click purchased A Christmas Chance when the author, Laura Hodges Poole, mentioned it was FREE in our Tribewriters: FaithWriters group. It's often an unknown what quality of work you'll get for free. I was genuinely impressed with Laura's work from start to finish in this novella. Very well written and thoroughly edited book. Clear and compelling voice. Believable main characters with both joys and struggles that change and grow--a loving married couple struggling with infertility, an aging grandma who was the guardian of her orphaned grandson, Chance, and this charming, cookie loving boy with some hidden hurts himself. Laura Hodges Poole delighted me with her masterful storytelling that led me to scroll from page to page, wanting to know more. She effectively carried her Ephesians 3:20 theme throughout A Christmas Chance, unfolding it beautifully. Altogether, an excellent, heartwarming and worthwhile Christmas story that inspires "more than you can ask for or imagine" hope.

A Christmas Novella that qualifies for a Hallmark Movie!

Reading "A Christmas Chance" by Laura Hodges Poole is like opening a Christmas gift. As you unwrap each page, the anticipation grows until you sing with joy at the treasured present that is revealed. This story should be on the Hallmark Christmas lineup!
In this sweet novella, Maddie and Justin have everything going for them—but their dreams of having a family is an ever-present heartbreak that has not been realized. They’ve decided to try for adoption and foster parenting, but the process is painfully slow. It seems their desire to fill their home with a large family will never be realized. But unexpected circumstances draw Maddie to learn to trust in God’s ways by focusing on the needs of others first.
The realistic characters and dialogue in "A Christmas Chance" draw the reader in, making the couple’s heartache palpable and the scenes believable. This could easily become a favorite Christmas story of mine for years to come!

What a great time of the year to have the opportunity to read such a delightful Christmas novella. Short and sweet, filled with love and faith, "A Christmas Chance" tugs at the heartstrings in a loving and inspirational way. Married couple, Justin and Maddie Oliver, share a deep love for each other but after several years of trying to conceive a child, they realize they will have to consider other options in order to have the family they so richly deserve.
Maddie owns and operates a bakery shop and her life takes an unexpected turn when an older lady and her grandson come into her store. These two very special people manage to fill a void in both her life and Justin's as they envelop them in the love they have to share. More unexpected and delightful news follows on the tails of their new life with Eleanor and Chance. The joy of this Christmas news is beyond their wildest dreams...
Author Laura Hodges Poole does a fine job of enticing her readers from the first page to the last. I couldn't put this novella down as I wanted to know more about this loving couple and how their lives unfolded. Very enjoyable read!
