Faith-filled and Inspirational...

What a wonderful testimony to God as provided by Author Alfancena Millicent Barrett! While reading her inspirational book, I felt like I was sitting across the table from a dear friend whom I was getting to know better.
She shares her life story with both openness and honesty and manages to draw the reader right into her life and the many challenges she encounters along the way. She starts at the very beginning as she explains her genetic birth defect. With her requiring corrective surgery, she is taken to a rehabilitation center at a very young age. Alfancena is a very positive and upbeat person who is easy to love and embrace.
I enjoyed hearing about her life in Jamaica before she moved to the United States. She shares her family history and her relationship with both her mother and father as well as her siblings. The love and devotion she still feels toward them is heart-warming. Her faith in God sustains her through any and all hardships that she faces including cancer and her treatment. I can truly identify with the expression she uses to describe her life and her writing endeavors...she states that she is vessel for God`s Glory. Inspirational Author Alfancena Millicent Barrett has touched the lives of many people and as observed in the one of the final chapters, Contributions From The People God Placed In My Path On This Journey...relatives and friends in Christ have also touched her life in a very profound way. In Chapter 16, she pens words of love to her readers to ensure that they take care of themselves and listen to their bodies. Great advice to be sure...her faith-filled words reflect her smile through every page that she writes!

I happen to know this author personally, and have seen firsthand how the Lord has taken her through her illness with faith and trust in Him. Alfancena Barrett is an inspiration to all who know her in her refusal to give up on God while going through the fiery trial of cancer and treatment.

A Journey of Faith

I began reading the story of Alfancena Barrett and couldn't put it down. This woman is an amazing testament to faith and the courage to put one foot in front of the other and continue to move forward. Despite the most difficult of struggles through her entire life, she remained a woman of faith. She always wore a smile.
I have had my own struggles with illness and am inspired by the way Alfancena has handled all that she has been through with an air of grace, dignity, and unwavering faith that God would provide.
This is a must read for anyone going through chronic or severe illness as well as for caregivers.
There were some formatting issues in the book.
