He was put into “the system” and was adopted by a single mother who was murdered by her boyfriend when he was only six years old. After that he ended up in the harsh foster system moving around a lot from one family to another. Nuax ran away by age twelve and became street smart in order to survive. He is a computer hacker who goes by the name “Imperceptible.” He would hack the bank accounts of the rich and transfer some of its contents to an offshore account. He made more money than he needed by getting assignments online which he delivered with perfection every time, with complete anonymity. Nuax is 5’11’, about 170 pounds, with blended complexion that can pass for many different ethnicities. This gave him impeccably good looks that forced anyone that came across him to do a double take. At a very young age the conditions of his upbringing made him feel it was up to him to help those who couldn’t help themselves. He agonized over the conditions of the poor and the underprivileged, and donates most of his money and the money he steals from the rich to food banks and shelters. When he turned 18, he got his passport and started visiting refugee camps around the globe. He came back to the United States with more devastation and anguish than ever. Each time Nuax travels he uses a different passport with aliases so no one can track his comings or goings. Though he is extremely well connected, he has never been seen by any of the people he deals with. He is a loner who guards his privacy. He has no friends and never eats in the same place twice. He moves around the world just like the name he created for himself: Imperceptible. Nuax has a very high IQ and taught himself how to fight. By the time he was 18, he mastered the skills of martial arts. He can operate any type of weapon and break into anything with precision. He speaks multiple languages: English, Korean, French, Germen, Italian, Spanish, Arabic, Swahili, Punjab, Chinese and Japanese. Nuax has created an untouchable persona, and is armed with the most intrusive techniques of any spy – which allows him to access any Intel in his grasp that he deems important. But in order to complete his mission, he will need the help of the richest man in the world who happens to be the only person Nuax admires and trusts.

Power Corrupts, And Here's the Antidote

This graphic novel is a fascinating journey into human agency. The author, Fathia Absie, is a filmmaker and storyteller who channels her frustration with humanity's inhumanity through the protagonist of this book. All of our collective anger and disillusionment with global leadership finds a clever outlet in this salient fantasy. The antihero and his patron discover a way to change the course of history by surprising means, forcing the corrupt to do the right thing, whether they want to or not. The same pressures that turn some into terrorists turn him into an agent of change. Is he just? Do the ends justify the means? Is this the only way to create positive change in this globalized world? This first installment is an opening salvo that forces us to think about the roles we play as citizens and as individuals. I can't wait to see where the story takes us.

The illustrations are fantastic, too

This graphic novel had me hooked from page 1! It's an action novel, it's a lesson on humanity, it's art.
Fathia Absie brings a story of hope to this world torn by wars. If you're looking for an original story and a respite from the negativity and violence we've grown accustomed to, this book is for you. The illustrations are fantastic, too! Highly recommend it.

The Humanity of Nuax

The little boy Nuax was born in a not so normal circumstance. Nuax was raised by the streets and had developed survival tools. Due to his circumstances he finds himself in the streets of America and teaches himself skills and becomes a hacker. Through his hacking he makes a lot of money. Nuax, a handsome youngster with an amazing consciousness is disillusioned by the world and its unfair treatments of the poor. He becomes an advocate for the poor and donates most of his money to different causes. Nuax decides to meet a technology mogul called Song. Song is also a humanitarian. Nuax decides to meet this Song guy in a conference. The purpose of the meeting is for Nuax to ask Song to support his efforts to rid the world of bad people. The two become fast friends as they embark on their mission together. Where Nuax has the ability to use some secret concoction to inject into the intended bad guy, Song is his way to accomplish these dangerous world problems through his endless resources. One of his jobs is to visit with American lawmakers to persuade them to pass a debt ceiling law so the government won’t shut down. It’s interesting how this young man, self-raised, and self taught and amazingly conscious of world affairs has power over these smug politicians. Needless to say most of the people he visits in the middle of the night when they are most vulnerable and they lose their daily self-importance are terrified of the ability of this young man. He succeeds by keeping in mind the people he advocates for. There are several stories of world leaders who find themselves under his mercy. Each story brings to the mix reminders of how cynical we have become by those who bring chaos to the world. This is a story of coming of age in a world in crises. Nuax’s abilities are self-taught to solve world problems and bring some equilibrium to the world order. The book is a needed voice in the sea of voices of graphic novels. Nuax is a positive addition to the mix. It bring a voice from a diversity perspective and as such brings in a perspective from a young person of color coming of age in America with a background that we hear so much about of single parenthood, foster homes and children lost into the abyss of being left alone to their own devices. The graphics are gorgeous and this book will hopefully wake something in our youngsters today who are all about themselves. Fathia Absie is a strong storyteller who embarks on telling the stories of the voiceless. As an American of African descent, her stories are layered with vivid anecdotes of her experience and she makes what some may preceive as the ‘other’ as an everyday folk.
