A prisoner on death row has effortlessly escaped from the most secure detention facility on earth and is on the loose in the suburbs of Washington D.C. looking for someone. His target? A brilliant computer scientist named Annalise McLean who has just been promoted to the top of the HomoGen Initiative, a company founded to further the human species by manufacturing their children for them. However, the government of the Reunited States of America wants their prisoner back and has launched an intensive manhunt to accost him. For the prisoner is not only a deadly soldier, he also carries with him a secret so potent it will threaten to destroy everything both Annalise and the government have worked so hard to create. In this early 22nd-century tale of politics, violence, and decayed morality, in a world that has abandoned the work of children to scientists, Annalise must decide which is worth more in the end: her own demons and ideology, or the truth of the prisoner's message.

Looking for sizzling summer reading? Look no further!
By M. Pelicano
While Central Administration systematically and aggressively defines and “cures” all of society’s ills, the motto of the clandestine, rebel group, Vérité, sporadically appears scrawled upon the ruins of Washington, DC and its defunct suburbs.
“Let There Be Life:” the words meet protagonist Anna McLean everywhere she looks; even, increasingly, within her own troubled heart.
Anna is a young, single, brilliant employee of HomoGen who, despite her questionable family history, is offered a new role at Central Admin. Her increased access to the agenda and machinations of the Central Administration’s inner sanctum lead her on a journey of discovery and transformation.
In his debut novel, author Nicholas Mason reveals a world steeped in technology which casts into sharp relief the tension between what humanity is capable of and what humanity is at liberty to do.
The Subversion Complex creates a reality in which reactive computing allows for direct programming of human brains; ePaper and commexes are a part of everyday life; aural-dosinginflicts both pleasure and pain; and couples can choose every characteristic of their made-to-order Version prior to conception and birth.
Mason’s virtual reality is poignantly and prophetically familiar.
The Subversion Complex is a skillfully blended tapestry delineating the lights and darks at work within the human heart and the cultures they create. Nicholas Mason unabashedly stares headline issues and the moral collapse of modern society squarely in the face, in this thriller set in post-modern Washington, DC.
Mason descends, stylistically, from such greats at Robert Ludlum and Tom Clancy, while echoes of Orwell and even Serling add to the harmonic richness of his descriptive masterwork. A wordsmith who evokes image and feeling, Mason creates not only a work of literature, but a thought-provoking experience of the realities at work within the Cultures of Life and Death.
“Let There Be Life” is the battle cry of the Culture of Life, poised against the excesses of centralized control, the trivialization of human life and a world increasingly alienated from its Origin and Destination. The Subversion Complex is, from beginning to end, a chronicle of women’s rights and seeks to liberate the feminine genius from slavery to both the constructs of human dysfunction and a flawed understanding of the human person.
I strongly and emphatically recommend The Subversion Complex for any reader interested in an exciting, impossible-to-put-down, tale of conversion and liberation. Let there be life!

an interesting future we won't like
By L.A. Otts
This is a story of our future world and it's like a horror story. There is no unwanted pregnancy. There are labs that do all the work. But a group of humans want to get back to moral and they fight for our freedom.
