Engrossing

If you are not hooked from the very first chapter...you may want to check your pulse. It begins with a bang (though lots of questions) and does not let up until the last page. Very fast-paced story with lots of twists. No romance between the two main characters, but I liked it anyway.

I Beta Read this book and can’t wait to read the final copy when it is on sale. Andrea keeps you guessing right until the very end. Just when you think the story is complete and Jen will ride off into the sunset another curve ball is thrown your way. The final shocker is saved for the very end. Fantastic story.

Her series, "Heal Yourself Naturally " came about as research of the clay as the result of a personal experience with the clay's healing powers. She wanted to learn what makes the clay's powers of healing. Stine is 80 years young, and has a background in nursing care and health and wellness. For several years she was a nutritional consultant/reflexologist/massage therapist using the techniques of holistic health. Alternative health care and taking charge of her own health care have been long time interests. This book should be on everyone's bookshelf

As a user of clay for years, I was interested in learning more uses for this product. Clay is an amazing product that should be found in every medicine cabinet and used as commonly as aspirin.

Years ago after a bone density test, my doctor prescribed Fosamax for my bone loss. Having friends who were taking this at the time, and knowing the dangers of this drug, I refused to fill this prescription. A friend recommended I start taking clay for bone growth. I had never heard of this and was very skeptical about it. She convinced me by showing me research that astronauts were given clay to improve their bone density since bones deteriorate in space.

I started taking clay and have never stopped. Every bone density test 3 years in a row showed bone growth. My doctor was totally amazed and at this point doesn't even mention bone density testing.

With the changes in health insurance looming, it's time to think about taking care of ourselves. If you are tired of all the drug prescriptions being pushed at you and are looking for an alternative that really works, try clay therapy. With this book in your library and clay in your medicine cabinet, you are well on your way to better health.

Fascinating Book! A Natural Alternative to Prescription Drugs!

As an advocate for natural health and alternative medicine, I found this book absolutely fascinating! Nancy Stine, the author, writes of how she used clays' natural healing powers to restore her own health, when she found herself on the brink of death. In this well-written and very interesting book, Nancy goes on to explain the many health, healing, and detoxifying benefits of clay for everything from allergies and digestive problems, to skin ailments such as acne and eczema.

We live in a society where we are bombarded daily with prescription drug medication commercials on our televisions. Why not try a natural alternative? Clay not only detoxifies the body, but is found to be one of the safest, least expensive, and most versatile natural treatments to costly prescription drugs.

For the many health and healing benefits of clay, I would highly recommend picking up a copy of this book!

Terrific Book

As I age I seem to have more aches and pains. I'm sure years of processed foods and contaminates have contributed to this. I have recently been turning to alternative methods to improve my overall wellbeing. This book on the healing power of clay provided great information on a simple way to detoxify and use clay for its healing influence. Nancy Stine has a nice relaxed style of writing. She presents a substantial amount of information in an easy to read format. I didn't realize that clay even had such healing clout. Great book!

This is the 3rd book in the series- from Jessika's POV, she marries a billionaire and all the fun and heartache that goes with it...When strange things start to happen, a sex tape between her and her husband Asher gets taken from their safe location and leaked to the media and on the internet, someone breaks into her office in her husbands very secured office building, and they a fire in their mansion.The journey of hiding from the media and defending their friends from the police's accusation's that Lucent started the fire and Elise his girlfriend ? guilt by association.The book has a cliffhanger and maybe HEA!?!? If you haven't read the first two books please do. It makes you appreciate the story so much more! Should Jessika and Asher trust their friend as they always have? With the cops saying one thing yet their faith in there friend telling them another. I have loved each of these books and they are for anyone that loves an intriguing story line.

This is the third book in Cerys' series Jessika's Love Story, and continues the adventures of Jessika and her billionare husband, Asher. It's always fun to imagine what life might be like for the rich and famous, and this couple, along with their friends, Elise and Lucent, have to deal with more than their share of mystery and intrigue.

The cops are after an arsonist, and they suspect the friends, so Jessika and Asher are helping them hide out. Meanwhile, the release of a sex tape has the press chasing Jessika, who just wants some time alone with her sexy husband so they can try to start a family.

Romantic and suspenseful, the story juggles the personal and impersonal aspects of having lots of money and being in the public eye. Great characters and wonderful insight into what life can be like after the "happily ever after" of marriage. A sensual, exciting read!

Ew.... stay far far away

There's not much that I can say about this that is positive. In fact there is nothing at all, except I usually love Lucy Monroe despite a few small things here and there.
She was annoying and terribly pushy/naive and trite. She was the quintessential rebellious princess but with a stupid twist, daddy dearest arranged a marriage for her. Which leads me into him, he was way too old for her and I'm not just talking physically (I never get how they can get away with being 'college' students without a little questioning going on and they didn't even say he was a 'returning' student/grad student/took some gap years/etc or at least if they did I skipped it in light of finding a plot or good story). Which leads me to the story: "Sleep with me!" "No!" "Sleep with me, it's ok!" "Hell no! Oh.... I slipped but that's as far as we're going to go!" "We can go a lot further than that!" "No!" "What the hell do you mean you're hired to be here?" "It's not as bad as it seems, I swear!" "Ok then sleep with me!" "Hell no, I'm leaving for good!" Later... hearing about dangerous stunt "Are you crazy?" "What? It was fun!" "You could have killed yourself!" "Eh, but I didn't. Sleep with me?" "No!" "Really, its ok now, there's no more conflicts. Sleep with me!" "Maybe a little bit more." "Ok!" Some fooling around but nothing more. "It's been a week, sleep with me!!!!!" "Oh... ok if I must!" and that's it folks, don't even remember if there was an ending. Now take those speaking points and reverse the genders and that's this book. He kept telling her NO and she kept demanding that he sleeps with her. I felt sorry for her actually, she's supposed to be pretty but she must be pretty horrible if a guy refuses to sleep with her. I just saved you about an hour of your time. Stay away from this book. I really, really don't remember the ending. Just some really awkward scenes throughout the book. It wasn't even good as a porno.

Forbidden, sensual and sweet!

I've read every book in Lucy Monroe's Royal Bride series and they only get better and better and more interesting. In Forbidden: The Billionaire's Virgin Princess Sebastian Hawk and Lina Marwan are equally matched in sensuality, spirit and in their attraction for each other. In each chapter I couldn't wait to see if Lina was going to out-smart Hawk as he was hired to be her bodyguard to watch over her and to also watch over her security team her family had hired.

As a small child, Lina was sent away from her home to live in the US with her aunt and uncle. She's never felt a part of her family; she's felt neglected, unwanted with the exception of the care her US relatives have given her and from time to time, her brother who infrequently. She's been sheltered, watched over like a hawk and now she wants to spread her wings. However, the only way she can do that is to outsmart her security team and her new bodyguard Hawk has figured her out!
Hawk is one hot man! He's exceptional at his job, owns his own security company, is well respected in the industry and wants no part of a relationship. He's learned from the women in his life not to trust and to keep his relationships short and sweet. Now he's been hired by the Sheik to watch over his daughter who's attending college so he makes sure he literally bumps into her, sparks fly between them.....it's immediate attraction for both of them, Lina so innocent and Hawk so "experienced" and it's a battle of wills, lust and a love story you're not going to want to miss!

Throughout the entire book I was rooting for them and you will as well because their attraction is so immediate and powerful. Hawk is torn every step of the way; he fights his attraction for Lina and in the end it's an emotional breakup and farewell. What was incredible to read was Lina's journey in self discovery, how she grew emotionally and outsmarted them all! This author has a gift for drawing her readers into the story and this book is no exception. In the end, let's just say, their reunion years later is emotional and tender as only Lucy Monroe can portray and this book is a love story at it's best! Cheers to Lucy and her Royal Brides!

What's the rush? Needed more escape attempts by the heroine and more arguments after the initial betrayal. To neat and wrapped up. Slow down and give us a thrilling plot line. I've been waiting for Hawks story and feel like it was over before it started.

This is one of the more comprehensive organization books I've read. I like that it's concise (because those people who read organization books tend to be the ones who don't have hours to weed through a bunch of fluff to get to the meat of the content) and I like that the advice is practical rather than just conceptual. I would recommend this book.

If you have lost a loved one to such a group

Bravo! An insightful, honest account of life under a destructive cult leader.

I lost my mother to this destructive cult. She disappeared over 21 years ago, leaving her loving, faithful husband of over 40 years with only a note on the table. The group had been visiting and calling her in secret while my dad was at work. They told her that she could join the group when she was 65. She turned 65 on Sept. 1st and disappeared on Oct. 2nd. What happens at 65? Social Security. They took advantage of my mother and her condition - she had a mini-stroke several months prior to her disappearance. Destructive cults imprison people's minds - it becomes an invisible concentration camp, a 21st century Auschwitz.

There are many destructive cults lurking in our modern world. If you have lost a loved one to such a group, please, please do not give up on them. Destructive cult leaders cut off or monitor contact with family because it is a source of power and control. That is why you seldom hear from your loved one. Most likely your letters to them or phone calls are being censored and screened. Don't give up! You are their life-line of hope and reality. Read and study about the psychology behind these groups - they are all basically the same - just different names and leaders.

I applaud Sherri for her courage in sharing her story. She is a beacon of hope and healing to anyone who has suffered abuse.

Should be read by anyone having association with the Congregation of Mary Immaculate Queen

I knew about the Congregation of Mary Immaculate Queen before reading this book and could not figure out why such beautifully attired nuns could be so far from the truth and consider themselves Catholic when they didn't believe that the Pope is the successor of St. Peter. How could this whole group be so disillusioned after so much prayer and penance? Well, this book answered that question. Certainly I would never imagine things had been so dire for this community but it certainly qualifies as a cult. So sad to read of so many truly holy Sisters being tortured by their own. Not giving an epileptic nun her medication? What was that about? Locking a Sister in the basement? I would bet these nuns, if they haven't died, are still part of the Congregation of Mary Immaculate Queen or perhaps have migrated to the Sisters of Mary, Mother of the Church - the group that was formed when 15 of them left this non-Catholic Catholic religion. Just goes to show you can't always trust a pretty habit and fluttering veil. I don't know why some people are attracted to cults - I'm sure many books have been written on that subject. I gave this book 5 stars because it is well-written and informative and honest. The story is very painful to read, especially as the Congregation of Mary Immaculate Queen still exists. And I've always wondered how well formed in the Catholic Faith the Sisters of Mary, Mother of the Church are. I certainly would not want my daughter to joint that congregation. Have these nuns changed their ways? I don't know. But they would have had a lot of changing to do and human nature doesn't take kindly to change of any sort. Anyway, thank you to Sherri Schettler for writing this book - well worth a read if you are interested in religious cults and the bizarre workings of the human mind.

The sad, and unfortunate thing for many

As someone who has personally experienced this same group which Sherri describes all too well, I am both impressed and edified that she had the courage to come forward and objectively relate experiences which many have excused or dismissed out of fear, or loyalty, or both. I was in grade-school when our family moved to Coeur d' Alene, Idaho in 1978 and became part of the "Schuckardt group". The sad, and unfortunate thing for many, if not all, of the members, is that these families have joined to preserve their traditions and Catholic convictions; and by the time the "group" has wielded its influence, these unsuspecting and sincere individuals have already pledged their loyalty, and have been threatened with hell-fire if they leave. Sadly, although Francis K. Schuckardt has passed away, many of his followers, and those who came later and have claimed that he no longer has any influence, still maintain the aura of control and fear that has now, unfortunately, become an accepted way of life for "traditionalists"; no matter where or what their background. Great read! Literally could not put it down!

John Isaacson has been screenprinting on t-shirts, paper, and tree bark for over ten years. He is also a cartoonist and musician living in Berkeley, California. He has lived in Ireland, Peru, Chile and China, and is currently at work making comics, t-shirts, and teaching an afterschool cartooning class.

Covers more than you'd think...

This book is a departure from the standard narrative of a craft or hobby book, and as such, I think it's one of those things; you'll either like it or lump it. Me? I didn't lump it, but I enjoy comics & 'toons anyway. The book was a quick read, but then again I'm a quick reader. I've only just gotten interested in screen printing, and have not yet created any of my own prints. But for the price, this book is a great value for an introduction and overview of simple to advanced processes.

The book is in the form of 3 "zines", comic books that are interspersed with profiles of artists and people in the screen printing trade.

Chapter 1 describes the process of obtaining a screen and making simple prints at home. Described are the processes of attaching screens, using emulsion, burning the screen, and inking. After the 1st chapter is a profile of a screen printer, and then an "insert", explaining that the comic is not intended as a "single source" for screen printing, and should be used as a "visual complement" to the booklet included in the "Diazo Photo Emulsion Kit". Then transparencies, photo emulsion, mesh count, supplies list, and curing & cleaning are explained. Another profile follows.

The next chapter, or "zine" shows our protagonist's first experience selling shirts as a vendor in Berkeley. It's amusing and informative, and contains the F-word.

Another profile follows, and the 3rd and last "zine" is about the author's adventures in a silk screen shop. And while I've never worked in one, it seemed to be a good overview of a shop, and discusses techniques and equipment, such as color separations, fixing stained shirts, registration marks, coating screens, fixing mistakes, setting up the screens so they'll be centered, washing out the screens, taping the screens and setting up & troubleshooting the multi-station press. This section is pretty detailed. Mixing ink & pantone color matching is also touched on. Squeegeeing, color registration & testing are covered next. Then on to curing & checking the cure. After that, it's on to discussing a couple of different techniques, flash-drying and reclaiming screens. after another misadventure, there is a small discussion touching upon different methods and techniques to achieve a few varied effects.

After a thank you page, and another profile, there's a section about printing on paper, and building a vacuum table. Drying methods are talked about as well as troubleshooting. Then, another profile.

At the end of the book are sections on manual color separations, cutting stencils by hand, squeegee moves (techniques), recommended reading, a last printer profile, a glossary, online resources, and some sample drawings to give you some inspiration.

Unlike the other reviewer I found this book to be very informative. Yes, the narrative is different, but is by no means unreadable. Neither is it lacking in detail. I've read a couple of other books, and none of them mentioned newtons (a measurement of force) or a durometer (a device to measure newtons). Of course it's not intended as a book for "professionals" - the subtitle is "How to turn your home into a T-Shirt factory". I've yet to read an honest DIY book that is intended for the reader to become a professional based solely on the information in that book, and for any profession, a book intended as a DIY is most certainly going to be rudimentary, and lacking in depth for professional knowledge.

I found it accessible and thorough enough that coupled with a few online tutorials (yay Makezine.com!) and practice, I'll be making great prints in no time. And, I've found a new catch phrase to describe someone that ticks me off. You'll know it when you read it.

I hope you enjoy this book, should you decide to buy it.

Fun, fun, fun...

I like screen printing, and I used to love comics when I was younger. The two come together in this amazingly cool little book. It was a quick read, and very enjoyable read. I learned a bit, but the fine detail isn't there, but if you are thinking about making your own shirts, or posters, I highly recommend this book first. It will make the tech books easier to understand... I find myself thinking about the drawings in this book while reading the others.

I've only very recently took an interest in creating my own screen printed items and have been reading a fair share of the books that are out there on the subject. I picked up "Do It Yourself Screen Printing" on a whim while ordering two other books from Amazon and I couldn't be more pleased. It's packed with lots of useful information and, like a good comic book, it's a genuinely entertaining read.

If I were forced to find a faul in this book I could make a wee stretch and argue that's it's not very useful as reference material as, given it's comic book layou, it's not organized as such, but- as I said- that's a stretch.

Overall a very informative, fun and entertaining guide to the art of screen printing.

Quite a Variety...

This book has quite a variety of quotes. There are joke lines about cross-breeding dogs, there are sweet quotes, there are funny quotes, there is even a quote against dogs. I am putting some of the quotes in my quote database so I can find them later.

The book lost a star because the quotes are not organized at all. There is also at least one exact repeat and several that are variations on the same theme, just worded slightly different.

Humorous quotes proverbs and sayings for all dog lovers

Calling all dog lovers, this e-book has your name on it!

It's full of over 500 dog related quotes and sayings, all nicely put together in one resource. Most of the sources and quotes are original and Amy will have you laughing your head off. The photos that one comes across through the pages are sooooooo cute!

I love the fact that the first few chapters are done in alphabetical style, really unique! The proverbs in chapter 11 are clever and the quips and dog superstitions in the next chapters are my favorite.

While reading reading this, a few of my dog lover friends came to mind and I thought they would absolutely love this e-book.

A good read here, one you can pick up and put down again (and again), so good for toilet reading or just before you go to sleep at night.

I loved this e-book with it's rib tickling qualities and know you will too.

Definitely worth its money for yourself and as a Christmas gift.
